Scott Disick's parents' deaths may have led to his recent struggles with alcohol.
In a new interview, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star's aunt, Audrey Martone, spoke out, claiming that Disick's grief had a lot to do with his hospitalization for alcohol poisoning last month.
"Scott lost both parents in a very short period of time, and I think being without them right now is a sad reminder,” Martone told Radar Online on July 21. “I feel for him and I try to give him the benefit of the doubt. Everyone has their own way of grieving, and I respect that.”
In Oct. 2013, Disick's mother, Bonnie, passed away at the age of 63. Three months later, Disick lost his father, Jeffrey, who was also 63. Dealing with back-to-back deaths is never easy, and the fact that Disick was forced to return to New York (where his parents lived) to film Kourtney & Khloe Take The Hamptons so soon after the deaths has made it even harder for him to cope in a healthy manner.
“They’re out in an area of Long Island where there are reminders of his parents,” Martone explained. “He might need some time to heal.”
Since Disick and the Kardashians arrived to The Hamptons earlier this summer, things between him and Kourtney Kardashian, who is pregnant with his third child, haven't been going that well -- at least according to reports.
Prior to Disick's hospitalization, Kardashian allegedly kicked him out of their home after he failed to quit drinking and focus on their family.
