Scott Disick's hospitalization has reportedly served as a much-needed wake-up call.
After being hospitalized with alcohol poisoning last month, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star allegedly admitted to his alcohol issues and is now getting the help he needs to move forward and get to a healthier place.
"Scott has known that he needed help for a while, but he just wasn't ready to take that leap," a source close to Disick told PEOPLE Magazine on July 19. "He finally had to humble himself and say, 'Hey, I need help.' It was a big step for him, and it took a lot of faith on his part."
According to TMZ, Disick was hospitalized on June 22 after a wild night out with friends. The incident went down just days after Disick was reportedly kicked out of the Hamptons home he was sharing with Kourtney Kardashian, the mother of his two children (with a third on the way). At the time, it was reported that Kardashian was getting annoyed with Disick's wild behavior and felt it best that they spent some time apart.
Following his hospitalization, Disick enlisted the help of family friend Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr. (he married Kim Kardashian and Kanye West) to give him counseling and help him get back on track before he and Kardashian welcome their third child.
"He's finding his spiritual center now," said the source. "I know what his public persona is, but he's really a sensitive guy with a small spiritual side."
PEOPLE Magazine's source also claimed the recent deaths of Disick's parents, Jeffrey and Bonnie, had a lot to do with his heavy drinking.
