Bethenny Frankel is in a stalemate when it comes to the lawsuit brought against her Skinnygirl brand.
After winning a small victory against two women who claimed her cocktails weren't "all natural," Frankel is standing firm, refusing to settle the suit and continuing to fight for the win.
“The parties are not engaged in any settlement discussions,” explained court documents obtained by Radar Online on July 18. “Plaintiff believes that settlement discussions would be beneficial and productive. Defendants do not believe settlement discussions would be productive.”
Frankel launched her Skinnygirl brand in April 2011, months after calling it quits with The Real Housewives of New York City, and right away, the low-calorie beverages began flying off shelves. Less than one year later, Frankel sold the brand for what has been estimated to be somewhere between $39 and $64 million.
Last month, Frankel was in court with Maureen Stewart and Kelly Lamicella, who claim her Skinnygirl cocktails contain preservatives, and received a ruling in her own favor. According to the judge, Stewart and Lamicella "failed to convince" the court that they could reveal who had "previously purchased Skinngirl Margarita and how a settlement would ultimately be paid out.”
Following their June court date, Stewart and Lamicella attempted to settle with Frankel, but the former talk show host wasn't interested in anything of the sort.
In the documents, it was stated that while the plaintiffs, Stewart and Lamicella, were open to discussing a possible settlement, the defendants, Frankel and her Skinnygirl partners, “do not request a Settlement Conference.”
