Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are committed to making their marriage work.
During a press tour for her new show, Spelling opened up about her marriage, telling press that while she and husband McDermott recently endured a highly-publicized cheating scandal, they aren't giving up on their relationship.
"We're definitely committed to being a family. We're working on things," Spelling told Us Weekly, according to a July 16 report. "It's a work in progress, but family comes first and we're definitely working on it, and things are better."
Earlier this year, after McDermott's alleged mistress, 28-year-old Emily Goodhand, came forward, claiming to have had an affair with McDermott in Canada, Spelling signed on to do a reality show with Lifetime. The series, titled True Tori, gave viewers a look inside Spelling and McDermott's life post-scandal.
Once the series wrapped, Spelling and McDermott signed on for a second series, The Great American Country's Tori & Dean: Cabin Fever, which followed them as they left Los Angeles and headed to Canada to renovate their lakeside cottage.
Following the news of Spelling's new show, reports claimed those close to her were concerned.
It’s bad enough Tori decided to do the reality show as she was trying to repair the marriage, but to include the kids was not wise,” an insider told Radar Online. “In recent days, Tori told her close friends Liam was having major issues with appearing on camera, and that she had to bribe him with toys and candy. Her friends were absolutely mortified and disgusted at the lengths Tori will go to for her career and reality show."
When Us Weekly asked Spelling if she and McDermott were still attending therapy sessions, she said, "for sure."
Tori & Dean: Cabin Fever airs every Friday at 10 p.m. on Great American Country.
