Alex McCord's former bedding partners want her case against them thrown out.
According to a new report, Vivian Douek and Mahmoud Ghazal have fired back against the former Real Housewives of New York City star's $100 million lawsuit, claiming her allegations against them are completely untrue and demanding the court throw out her nine-figure litigation.
"Douek and Ghazal, in legal docs, refuted McCord’s claims, systematically denying the jabs made by the former Bravo personality, only conceding that they had worked together three years ago," Radar Online reported on July 3. "McCord’s claims she was to function as head of the company, or use her clout to plug it, are false, they said."
On March 4, 2014, McCord and her husband, Simon van Kempen, filed a lawsuit against Douek and Ghazal, claiming the pair stole their bedding company right out from underneath them. In the suit, McCord alleged she and van Kempen created a luxury bedding line with Douek called Aluxe, and that after they did so, Douek cut ties and created her own company, which was reportedly "nothing more than a reincarnation," and stole all their customers.
McCord also alleged in her suit that Douek had used the same Egyptian manufacturing company with her new project, MAGSHO, as she and McCord had used with Aluxe.
In their court documents, Douek and Ghazal “demand judgment dismissing [McCord and Van Kempen’s] complaint for interest, costs, attorneys fees and any other relief that the court deems just and equitable.”
