Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy have left The View.
On Thursday, ABC announced that they would be moving in an exciting new direction with The View, and would no longer be featuring Shepherd and McCarthy as co-hosts. Although the news was shocking, the pair don't appear to be letting it get them down.
"Mr @DonnieWahlberg always takes care of his ladies @jennyannmccarthy & me!" Shepherd captioned a photo of herself, McCarthy, and Donnie Wahlberg on June 26. "To be continued... ;O)." In the photo, everyone was seen smiling with their heads pressed together.
Shepherd joined the cast of The View in 2008, beating out television personality Gayle King and actress Sheryl Lee Ralph for the spot left by Star Jones. In 2013, McCarthy was added the show for the series' 17th season.
In a statement to Us Weekly on Thursday, ABC explained the exits of Shepherd and McCarthy.
"The View will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively," the statement read.
After the news was announced, McCarthy took to Twitter where she told fans, "If Sherri goes... I go too. #sisters."
According to the report, Shepherd had been in negotiations with the network, but was unable to reach an agreement.
Although Shepherd and McCarthy will not be moving on with the series for its upcoming seasons, an Us Weekly source expects that fans will see more of the pair on-screen before they officially leave the show.
Whoopi Goldberg is the only remaining cast member.
