Google Glass is now Diane von Furstenberg chic!
A few days ago, the renowned designer's blog announced that her designs for Google Glass are now on sale. "The wait is over," exclaimed the post.
Earlier this month, Google announced the partnership with the legendary designer.
But it was no surprise that Diane von Furstenberg would be the one to give Google Glass a makeover.
"Technology is your best accessory," is one of Furstenberg's pearls according to the Google Glass announcement.
Von Furstenberg incorporated Google Glass eyewear into her collection during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City two years ago. The New York Daily News described this runway debut a blend between high technology and high fashion.
The renowned designer even took the co-founder of Google, Sergey Brin, down the runway. They each modeled a pair of the original Google Glass designs.
This new Made For Glass collection is available at Net-A-Porter, where the stylish techy-eyewear costs $1800. But if you already have a pair, upgrading to the Diane von Furstenberg (DVF) frames is $225 through the Google website.
It's a steep price no matter what the style, but these DVFs come in five color schemes: Shiny Ink, Shiny Lagoon, Shiny Elderberry, Matte Java, and Matte Ice.
The high-end eyewear now has a DVF stamp of chicness. Even if you aren't up for spending the big bucks, it's hard to resist looking through Google, especially when there's Google-fied eyewear involved. Check out these celebrities who like to accessorize with Google Glass.
