Lisa Vanderpump Lawsuit 2014: Villa Blanca Forced To Pay Punitive Damages To Former Waitress

Lisa Vanderpump is shocked over the verdict in the sexual harassment case brought against her restaurant, Villa Blanca.

On Tuesday, Villa Blanca was ordered to pay $100,000 in punitive damages to a former waitress, who claimed to have been sexually harassed by the restaurant's manager.

"Jurors awarded Karina Bustillos over $6,000 last week after hearing testimony that a manager manhandled her, called her foul names and made sexual advances," TMZ reported on June 17. However, the jury didn't place any liability on the manager, which made it seem that they did not believe Bustillos story.

Last week, following their court appearance, both parties claimed victory, but unfortunately for Vanderpump and Villa Blanca, the case was not closed, and although jurors appeared to have issues with Bustillos' testimony against the manager, the restaurant was later ordered to pay her $100,000 in damages.

Following the verdict, Vanderpump took to her Twitter account, where she tweeted her disappointment to fans.

"Hard to comprehend how my manager is totally innocent but [Villa Blanca] gets damages against them for something that didn't happen," she wrote. "Losing faith."

TMZ appears to agree with Vanderpump's opinion of the case, calling the outcome "puzzling."

This is the second legal issue Vanderpump has dealt with in the last few weeks. Earlier this month, Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd, paid a "lump sum" to another former employee of Villa Blanca, who claimed to have been wrongfully terminated by the pair after suffering from a back injury he sustained while working at the restaurant.

Vanderpump plans to appeal the verdict.
