Andi Dorfman has resigned from her job as an assistant district attorney in Fulton County, Ga.
According to a new report, Dorfman had planned to return to her job after filming wrapped on The Bachelorette, but after several months off, she has decided against going back.
"[Dorfman] did not want to ask for an extension on her leave, so she decided to resign instead," TMZ reported on June 16. "The D.A.'s office had nothing but good things to say about her ... even going as far as saying they would be open to re-hiring her if the opportunity arises."
Prior to her gig as The Bachelorette, Dorfman starred on Juan Pablo Galavis' season of The Bachelor. During the show, Dorfman appeared to be a front-runner, but pulled herself out of the show on episode eight after a nightmare visit to her hometown. After taking Galavis home to Atlanta to meet her parents, Dorfman was informed by her father that he would not be giving Galavis his blessing, as he was still dating other women.
After being named as The Bachelorette months later, Dorfman left her job with the Fulton County District Attorney's Office. At the time of her exit, Dorfman had requested a temporary unpaid leave, which she was granted -- as long as she agreed to return by May 31.
In a Feb. 28 report by TMZ, it was noted that although Dorfman's request was "highly unusual," she was allowed to go on leave because her boss, Fulton County D.A. Paul Howard Jr, felt she was a "valued member of the DA's office."
