Jason Hoppy has obtained an investor to assist him in his divorce from Bethenny Frankel.

Although the former couple recently came to an agreement in regard to the custody of their 4-year-old daughter, Bryn Casey Hoppy, their dispute over money continues and Hoppy still feels that he deserves a part of Frankel's Skinnygirl earnings.

“It’s like a loan, in exchange for a stake in the outcome,” legal expert Bryan Konoski revealed to In Touch Weekly of Hoppy's decision to hire an investor. According to Konoski, Hoppy stands a better chance at getting the settlement he is looking for with a financial expert at his side.

Frankel and Hoppy parted ways at the end of 2012 after nearly three years of marriage. At the time of Frankel's initial filing, the separation appeared to be amicable, but by the end of Jan. 2013, they were both requesting primary custody of Bryn, as well as the use of the Manhattan apartment they purchased together.

In early 2012, amid reports that Frankel and Hoppy had hit a rocky point in their relationship, a source told Radar Online that the couple had an "iron clad" prenup, which had been modified shortly after they tied the knot. However, because Frankel sold her Skinnygirl brand to Jim Bean after they wed, there has been some confusion as to whether or not Hoppy deserves a part of the reported $120 million that Frankel received.

Two months ago, Hoppy reportedly offered to settle his divorce with Frankel for $10 million, but Frankel turned him down.
