The stars of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have yet to sign their contracts for season five.
Before agreeing to return, the five remaining cast members, including Lisa Vanderpump, Kyle Richards, Kim Richards, Brandi Glanville and Yolanda Foster, are reportedly staging a holdout in an effort to get more money for the upcoming season five.
"Lisa has made it very clear she's on the fence about renewing her contract for personal reasons -- but we're told the other women are, more predictably, holding out for fatter paychecks," TMZ reported on May 30. "Negotiations have been intense, but Bravo is close to finalizing deals for everyone except Lisa, who remains a question mark."
Earlier this week, Us Weekly reported that Joyce Giraud and Carlton Gebbia, who had been brought aboard the series for season four, following the exits of Adrienne Maloof and Camille Grammer, had been fired. And while their exit has yet to be confirmed, Gebbia recently spoke to E! News about the report, calling it a "blessing in disguise."
As for who may join the show, replacing Giraud and Gebbia, TMZ claims it is the new fiancee of Foster's ex-husband, Mohammed Hadid, who is the front-runner.
Reports began surfacing about Shiva Safai joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in Feb. 2014. At the time, a source claimed Vanderpump and Foster were both on board with her addition.
"Lisa and Yolanda are telling Shiva she needs to join the cast and they want her to appear on the next season,” the source told Radar Online. “Despite being divorced from Mohammed, Yolanda encouraged him to marry Shiva [and] Lisa would love to have Shiva on the show because they are friends, and as viewers know, she isn’t popular with other ladies and could use another ally!”
