Aundrea Fimbres is engaged and leaving the band that put her on the map.
During a recent concert with Danity Kane, which was formed nine years ago on MTV's Making The Band, Fimbres announced she would be leaving the band to pursue her dream of starting a family with her yet-to-be-named fiancé and his daughter.
"I do have to say one thing if you guys don't know. I just recently got engaged," Fimbres, 30, announced to the crowd, via Us Weekly, during their kick-off #DKNoFilterTour in San Francisco on Friday, May 16. "Two dreams of mine have been to be a singer and be on stage like this and to have a family. In a couple of months, that's all about to come true. I'm going to get married."
After being chosen as P. Diddy's top five singers on MTV's Making The Band, Fimbres, along with Aubrey O'Day, Shannon Bex, Dawn Richard and D. Woods, Danity Kane released their self-titled debut album on August 22, 2006. The album included hits such as "Show Stopper" and "Ride For You." In 2008, Danity Kane released their second album, Welcome To The Dollhouse. One year later, Richard announced the group had parted ways. Then, in May 2013, the group reunited, sans Diddy and D. Woods, for several shows around the globe.
The group's current tour, the #DKNoFilterTour, includes shows in 13 cities, and although Fimbres is moving on, the three remaining remembers of the group will continue on with the scheduled shows.
"It's time for me to start the next chapter in my life," she continued, with tears in her eyes. "So I thank you guys from the bottom of my heart…I love you so much. And I just wanted you guys to know from me."
