Joe Giudice recently caught a break in court.
As he and wife Teresa Giudice await sentencing on one fraud case, the pair have gotten lucky with another case, as fraud charges against Giudice have been dismissed.
"This is a HUGE victory for the Giudice family and for their ongoing criminal case that is taking new turns by the day," the couple's legal coach and crisis manager, Wendy Feldman, told Radar Online on May 13.
Months ago, Giudice's former business partner, Joe Mastropole, alleged in a lawsuit that Giudice forged his signature in an effort to gain a mortgage loan. The suit filed by Mastropole claimed Giudice signed Mastropole's name on mortgage documents for an apartment building that the two had owned together. Mastropole’s name was eventually taken off the document after Giudice refinanced, but according to the documents, Mastropole never received the $260,000 he was owed.
However, once the pair went to court, where Mastropole expected to receive a judgement, which would require his former partner to pay him the said amount, Judge Kenneth Slowmienski dismissed the case in its entirety.
Unfortunately, Giudice's legal troubles are far from over.
Currently, Giudice and his wife, Teresa, are facing jail time in a separate case. Following an indictment in July 2013, Giudice and Teresa were charged with several counts of fraud and in March 2014, both parties admitted their guilt. They are now awaiting sentencing, which is due to take place this July. If found guilty, Teresa could be facing 27 months behind bars, while Giudice could receive up to 46 months after pleading guilty to nine counts of mail, wire, bank and bankruptcy fraud.
