Aviva Drescher has been noticeably missing from the Real Housewives of New York City's opening credits, but was she really fired as reports have claimed?
Last week, it was alleged that Drescher had been temporarily "fired" and forced to take a three-week hiatus from the show after a dispute with producers over her absence during a cast trip. However, according to Drescher, the report isn't completely true.
“I wasn’t (disciplined)," Drescher told Tom Murro, adding that she will be "back on in two weeks.”
In addition to Drescher being absent from the series' credits, she was also removed from the show briefly, and for a regular cast member, that is simply unheard of -- especially when it comes to multiple episodes.
When pressed about the issue of her being removed from the show's opening, Drescher told Murro, "It's not newsworthy."
Speaking to Murro, Drescher also addressed the reason behind her absence from the cast trip to Berkshires. While it was previously alleged that her diva-antics had led to her refusal to join the rest of the women, she claimed it was actually the result of a health concern. Because Drescher has a prosthetic leg and suffers from asthma, she believed that the trip would prove far too exhausting for her limited physicality.
Either way, Drescher is set to make her return to Bravo's The Real Housewives of New York City later this month at which point she will likely also return to the show's opening credits.
