Amy Purdy has just discovered more about the injury she suffered during Monday night's Dancing With The Stars.
After reportedly being rushed to the hospital during the taping of Monday's show, Purdy underwent several tests which confirmed she was suffering from a displaced rib and muscle spasms.
"I really overworked the right side of my back in this dance all week," Purdy, 34, told PEOPLE Magazine on April 29. "The hospital took X-rays and everything looks good, but a rib is out of place and the muscles are in spasm."
Prior to Purdy and her partner Derek Hough's rumba, Purdy said she was feeling sore, but after getting a massage, she felt better and went on to participate in Monday's competition. Throughout the performance, Purdy was doing fine, but once she stepped off the ballroom floor to hear what the judges had to say, she turned her head in a way that made her upper body pop, causing her muscles to spasm.
Now at home, Purdy assured fans she's "being very proactive, icing all day, taking anti-inflammatories and working with a sports doctor to try to heal quickly so I can learn this week's dances."
On Wednesday, Purdy will know for sure whether or not she'll be able to return to the show for next week's competition.
Also on Tuesday, Hough surfaced on Instagram where he tweeted a photo of his and Purdy's Rumba from Monday night, along with the caption, "Proud of this girl . Fingers crossed . Thank you all for the support . Lots of love."
