Tamra Barney Responds To Her Ex-Husband's Request For Full Custody, Claims Of Her Negligent Parenting

Tamra Barney is apparently fighting back against her ex-husband's claims that she is an unfit parent.

Days after Simon Barney's shocking custody filing hit the web, Barney has released a statement, denying all allegations and claiming it is her ex who is hurting their children.

"I am saddened by the false stories my ex-husband has released," Tamra told PEOPLE Magazine on April 16. "He has no foundation to his allegations and in my opinion will do anything to destroy me. Unfortunately, he is hurting our children and my family in the process."

In the documents obtained by Radar Online, Tamra was accused of a number of things. In one instance, Simon claimed she had refused to take their son Spencer, 13, to the doctor after he hurt his thumb. When the boy returned to Simon, he was immediately taken to urgent care where his thumb was revealed to be broken. In a separate incident, Simon stated that their youngest child, daughter Sophia, 8, was returned to him with bugs in her hair after Tamra allegedly failed to bathe her properly.

There were several more instances listed, dating back to 2011, in which Sophia was unclean after visiting with her mother. Simon even claims Sophia once returned home wearing the same undergarments she had been wearing when she left his care.

According to the report, Tamra was so neglectful with the kids that their oldest, Sidney, 15, opted to move out in Oct. 2013 in favor of living with Simon.

Tamra also released a separate statement to PEOPLE via her lawyer, slamming Simon for taking their custody fight public.

"It is unfortunate that Mr. Barney has elected to involve the general public in very private litigation regarding the best interests of minor children," the statement read. "Ms. Judge is an excellent mother and we are confident the court will resolve the parties' issues guided by the best interests of the minor children rather than the unfounded allegations by Mr. Barney."
