Miranda Lambert is taking a break from her career in country music.
After releasing her album, Kerosene, in 2005, Lambert has been touring and making music, but now, she's taking a step back from her hectic schedule in favor for some downtime.
“This is the longest break I’ve ever had since I was 17, since I started playing music,” Lambert said in her announcement, according to Fox News. “It’s kind of scary ’cause you just get your autopilot, and you know what you’re doing, and then it’s like, ‘Wait a minute, do I really, do I remember how to do this?’”
In 2005, following the release of Kerosene, Lambert has spent the majority of her years traveling around and singing for her many fans, first on other talent's tours, and then, in 2010, embarking on a tour of her own.
Once Lambert earned headliner status, she took her Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour on the road, and brought along several big acts, including Eric Church, Little Big Town, Jerrod Niemann and Gary Allan. From there, Lambert went on to tour with Dierks Bentley on 2013's Locked and Reloaded Tour.
Throughout her touring schedule, Lambert was also hard at work on her many albums, the fifth of which is set to be released on June 3, 2014.
“It’s good, too, because then your batteries are recharged and you feel like you have more to give,” Lambert added of her break.
