Lauren Silverman's Ex-Husband Speaks Out About Her New Life With His Former Friend Simon Cowell

Andrew Silverman has opened up about his ex-wife's relationship with Simon Cowell.

Although Silverman said nothing negative about Lauren or the former American Idol judge, he did open up about the painful ordeal of having his wife leave him for one of his closest friends.

“It was a very difficult time in my life. I learned a lot, moved forward," Silverman revealed in an interview with the New York Observer. "My core business has continued to move forward. I learned a lot about myself as an individual, the importance of family. My focus has been on my son throughout the whole ordeal.”

Silverman, who is a real estate mogul, shares a son Adam, 8, with his ex-wife and while he admitted she has been enjoying the spotlight as of late, he also noted that she remains committed to her motherly duties with Adam.

Still, having his wife and his best friend engage in an affair wasn't something Silverman ever expected.

"It was a fascinating experience, unexpected and shocking,” he added.

Meanwhile, a source told E! News yesterday Lauren and Cowell are loving life with their new baby, son Eric, who was born on Valentine's Day of this year.

"It's a happy time," the source said. "They're settling into their new life."
