Demi Lovato is suffering from a respiratory infection, but she's not letting that get in the way of her career.
Although Lovato was feeling sick, she didn't cancel her concert in Uniondale, New York at the Nassau Veterans Memorial coliseum.
"The last thing I would ever want to do is cancel a show, with that being said I'm super sick tonight so it may not be my best show but I'm so excited to perform for you guys but I may need you to sing most of the show for me!!!" Lovato told fans on Twitter yesterday evening, according to a March 12 report by E! News.
Then, after her show, Lovato returned to Twitter where she thanked fans for being understanding about her situation.
"I love you guys so much!!!! Thank you Long Island for an incredible night.. Soooo fun even when I'm sick!!!" she wrote.
After Lovato's fans began to grow concerned that she was suffering from something serious, she confirmed that she had been diagnosed with a respiratory infection.
Typically, respiratory infections last from 7-10 days with symptoms including a cough, sore throat, runny nose, nasal congestion, headache, low grade fever, facial pressure and sneezing. The illness can be treated with antibiotics which will decrease symptoms and fight back against whatever bacteria caused the infection to start with.
Lovato has been on tour since Feb. 9 when her Neon Lights Tour kicked off, and soon, she will be heading to Mexico and South America where she will perform 15 concerts.
As for her upcoming tour dates, Lovato has plenty. While the former Disney star is off tonight, she will continue with the tour on Thursday in Auburn Hills, Mich., and from there, she's scheduled to perform nearly every night until March 30, at which point she will have a few weeks off before heading below the border.
