Amanda Bynes was released from a Los Angeles treatment facility two months ago, and already, she's been making amazing progress. Still under the care of doctors, Bynes has been placed on medication to treat schizophrenia, which has helped her get back to her life and pursue her dreams in the fashion industry.
“Amanda is responding very well to the medication she is taking for schizophrenia," a source told Radar Online on Feb. 7. "Rick and Lynn are absolutely thrilled with the progress she has made in such a short amount of time. She continues to see doctors several times a week."
On Jan. 14, Bynes attended her first class at the Fashion Institute of Design And Merchandizing's Orange County campus where she is studying in hopes of one day launching her own clothing line.
"Taking a class in fashion merchandising at a fashion school in Orange County has been an incredibly positive experience for Amanda,” a source told Radar. “It’s only one class, but it’s enough to keep Amanda busy."
Unfortunately, the campus is a far distance away from Bynes' parent's home in Thousand Oaks, where she currently resides, and since she has to be driven by her parents, it has been a bit of a "kink."
In her downtime, when she's not busy with school and her medical care, Bynes has been hitting the gym and going on walks with her parents through their neighborhood.
“Despite the fact Amanda is no longer in a facility, her outpatient treatment is continuing," the source explained. "She’s very happy to re-establish the loving relationship with her family that she once shared.”
Living with her parents has been “extremely essential for Amanda’s progress. However, Amanda has been expressing a desire to move out, which is actually a good sign,” the insider added.
Bynes hopes to potentially move out later this year.
