Reza Farahan and his partner Adam Neely are engaged. The Shahs Of Sunset proposed to his longtime love in Aug. 2013, and now, after months of keeping the news secret, Farahan is dishing on his big news.
"I proposed on my birthday in August," Farahan told Life & Style of the engagement on Feb. 4. "I rented a sprawling $5 million mansion in Palm Springs for me and my friends to spend my birthday weekend."
After Farahan's birthday cake was brought out, he presented Neely with a ring from Cartier.
"I finally met the love of my life," Farahan told PEOPLE Magazine on Feb. 5. "Plus, my a** isn't getting any younger!"
The proposal took place during filming of Shahs Of Sunset's third season and will be seen in its entirety on the show's upcoming finale episode which airs on Tuesday at 9 p.m.
While the engagement went off without a hitch, telling his family about the news was a bit more stressful -- especially since he had hidden the news from them for so long.
"Although they adore Adam, I didn't tell them until last week so they didn't appreciate the fact that I had kept such big news from them for so long," Farahan admitted. "I waited five months! Persians are very opinionated and I didn't want to hear anything negative around such a joyous event."
Now that Farahan and Neely are engaged, wedding planning is in full effect. However, the pair plan to wait until after they are finished renovating their Los Angeles home before they walk down the aisle, but when they do, it may not be what fans would expect from over-the-top Farahan. According to him, he and Neely will be keeping this small.
"It will definitely be a small and intimate affaire," he said. "Most likely somewhere exotic."
