After being spotted twice in two weeks at a Los Angeles rehab facility, Tori Spelling's husband, Dean McDermott, officially announced on Thursday that he had checked himself into a treatment center to address his "health and personal issues."

"I am truly sorry for the mistakes I have made and for the pain I've caused my family," the 47-year-old McDermott told Us Weekly in a statement on Jan. 23. "I take full responsibility for my actions and have voluntarily checked myself into a treatment center to address some health and personal issues. I am grateful to be getting the help I need so I can become the husband and father my family deserves."

The news come less than one month after Us Weekly broke the news that McDermott had cheated on his wife with a 26-year-old woman while in Canada for work. In the magazine's Dec. 26 issue, Emily Goodhand revealed all the details of her affair with McDermott, and claimed that he told her his marriage was "sexless."

Spelling and McDermott met on the set of Lifetime TV's Mind Over Murder in 2005. At the time, they were both married to different people, McDermott to Mary Jo Eustace (who is the mother of his son Jack) and Spelling to Charlie Shanian. However, despite their marriages, they engaged in an affair. One year later, on May 7, 2006, Spelling and McDermott tied the knot in Fiji.

Spelling and McDermott have four children together, sons Liam Aaron, 6, and Finn Davey, 1, and daughters Stella Doreen, 5, and Hattie Margaret, 2.
