In her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills opening tag line, Joyce Giraud declares, "You can never be too young, too thin, or too rich." However, in a new interview, Giraud is contradicting her statement, denying she has an eating disorder and saying that eating disorders are not something that anyone, even Brandi Glanville, should joke about.
"In the entirety of my life, I have never had an eating disorder. It's disrespectful of Brandi Glanville to accuse me of such an ugly disease," Giraud revealed to Star Magazine on Jan. 15. "Anorexia and bulimia are serious problems and for her to just throw that around so easily is hurtful."
In Glanville's Dec. 30, 2013 blog on Bravo's official website, she accused Giraud of promoting eating disorderes both in her tag line and on the show. "Joyce saying you never be too thin really bothered me, because in fact you can," she wrote. "Young women have enough problems with eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia, and then to have an ex-beauty queen perpetuate that one can never be to thin is just wrong. I think that Joyce may have a problem."
"The thing is, Brandi is extremely skinny -- for her height, she is skinnier than me! She should know what it's like to have a fast metabolism. I don't know why she targets me. I'm a size two -- I'm not even a size zero," Giraud explained.
"After I won Miss Puerto Rico, I was told that I needed to beef up. They made me drink Ensure to gain weight," Giraud admitted, also revealing that she "eats chocolate all day."
"Even Brandi herself has even made comments on how much I eat! ... I do realize how blessed I am to be able to eat what I want and not have to live in the gym," she added.
