Ke$ha Is Reportedly In Rehab To Address Alcohol Addiction In Addition To An Eating Disorder

Ke$ha announced on Jan 3. that she was heading to a treatment center where she would address an eating disorder, but according to a new report, that's not all the singer is addressing.

"In recent months, those closest to her had become increasingly worried about her drinking. It’s been the stuff of legend in the past and she’s never hidden the fact that she loves to drink," a source close to the situation told Radar Online. "Now, though, part of her bid to get healthy is to get completely healthy — and that will involve looking at her abuse of alcohol. Some of her advisors had raised this in the past."

For years now, Ke$ha has been singing about her wild ways and love of booze, and at one point, even claimed that her lyric about brushing her teeth with Jack Daniels, in her 2009 hit "Tik Tok," was more than just a lyric.

"Jack Daniels is an anti-bacterial and it’s way better than morning breath. Let me put it this way, if you wake up naked in a bathtub and you have the choice between rinsing out with Jack Daniels or trying to make out with some dude with morning breath, I would recommend picking up the Jack," she told Vanity Fair in 2011.

In 2012, Ke$ha defended her booze-based lyrics, telling press, "If men can talk about drinking in every awesome rock ‘n’ roll song and every awesome rap song, why can’t a woman? Just because I drink doesn’t mean I’m a drunk. Just because I have sex, and I’m not embarrassed doesn’t mean I’m a whore. If men can do it, why can’t a woman do it?"

One year later, Ke$ha was photographed sitting on a Venice, Calif. sidewalk, drinking a beer out of a plastic bag. Months after that, Ke$ha let loose at a gay bar in Venice. “Ke$ha looked as trashy as ever on her date with her lady friend… She came in, ordered a couple drinks – Makers Mark on the rocks — and hung out just like one of the regulars,” a source said at the time.

Although there may be a few signs that Ke$ha was also struggling with an alcohol dependecy when she entered treatment earlier this month, a source claims that her main issue is her eating disorder.

"There’s no doubt that Ke$ha has her demons and the chief one is an eating disorder," the source said. "It’s the primary reason she checked into Timberline Knolls."
