In a recent appearance in The Tonight Show, Olivia Wilde opened up about her experiences during her pregnancy and her role model.
The actress appeared on The Tonight Show on Dec. 17 to promote her upcoming film, Her. Wilde said to host Jay Leno that many people go out of their own way not to mention the actress's growing baby bump, E! News reported.
"That's the worst thing in the world -- when you congratulate a non-pregnant woman on her pregnancy," Wilde revealed. "I find that people will go to such great lengths to not mention it."
Her baby bump does not bulge too far which leads to people offering her food and drinks that expecting mothers are not allowed.
"Even when you are clearly -- like, I feel like I'm clearly pregnant -- people will be like, 'Hey, would you like a glass of whiskey? Would you like to get on this roller coaster?'" she joked. "And I go, 'Oh, well, I'm actually pregnant.' And they go, 'What?!' Unless someone's watching you give birth, I don't think they want to make the wrong call."
Even if the couple has confirmed the pregnancy, they still won't give any hints on the baby's gender.
"It's human," she shared.
"We feel good about that," she added.
The Tron star has a role model when it comes to motherhood: her very own mother, Leslie Cockburn.
"I have a great mom...but she sets the standards pretty high," Wilde told the late-night host. "[She went] all over the world for 60 Minutes, ABC News, for Frontline for years, so when I'm worrying about like, 'Am I allowed to get on the treadmill?' My mom is like, 'I was in warzones with you guys.'"
"The way most moms tell a cute story about something that happened at like a ballet recital, my mom likes to tell the story when she was eight months pregnant with me and we were on a plane that had a bomb somewhere in the Middle East. And she's like, 'Remember and you almost didn't arrive because of the bomb?' And then you know they landed, they evacuated the plane, there was no bombing, but I'm like, 'That's a terrifying story. Don't share that with our new friends,'" she added.
