Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera performed for the first time together on The Voice finale 5 on Tuesday.
Lady Gaga was one of the musical guests for the finale which also featured an all star line up of Celine Dion and Ne-Yo. Lady Gaga was the final musical guest performer of the evening. She took to the stage and belted out her latest song, Do What U Want. She was joined in the appearance by Voice coach, Aguilera, who sang the lyrics to R. Kelly’s part in the song.
It was the first time that the two entertainers performed together. The two have been pitted as rivals in the media for the past five years. Aguilera was accused of copying Lady Gaga’s style and Gaga was accused of sabotaging the Beautiful singer. However, there was no hint of tension between the two powerhouses during their collaboration.
"I was really excited because The Voice called and said they wanted me to perform on the finale, and I obviously can't refuse," Gaga said afterwards. "Such an amazing show! And I said I want to know if Christina wants to do it with me!"
Aguilera returned the compliment.
"This is the first time we've ever met," she revealed. "When I heard she wanted to collaborate, I said of course! She's such an innovative artist and a risk taker. And as a fellow female, I have so much respect for that. And I just have to say guys, she's the most down-to-earth real person I've met. So I love you girl, and you deserve everything you've earned."
