Alec Baldwin's television show with MSNBC will not be returning, The New York Post reported Tuesday.
Sources confirmed that Up Late With Alec Baldwin has been canceled because of Baldwin's repeated use of gay slurs. Baldwin ignited controversy after he verbally assaulted a photogragher who was taking pictures of his family. According to a video posted by TMZ, the Emmy winner hurled homophobic slurs. He later apologized but apparently that was not enough.
"The decision has been made. He's gone," a source said. "The [parent company] Comcast guys have decided. Word is spreading through the building."
Another source of conflict was Baldwin's reported behavior on the set of his talk show. It was alleged that he behaved like a diva and treated the staffers horribly. He also demanded a separate makeup room being used by a staffer with cancer because she was sensitive to hairspray according to a source. Baldwin did not get his way and lost it.
"I don't give a f - - k if she has cancer or not, I want that f - - king makeup room," he allegedly said.
A spokesperson for Baldwin contested that Baldwin had been fired. Instead, the rep described the cancellation more as being Baldwin's decision.
"The show is not coming back. He had questions on whether he wanted to continue," the rep said.
