Britney Spears 'In Love' With Boyfriend David Lucado

Britney Spears has opened up about her love life and confessed to being in love with her new boyfriend, Us Weekly reported Monday.

The Perfume singer will appear on Entertainment Tonight Tuesday evening but a transcript was released of some of her comments. She addressed her eight month romance with David Lucado. The two started dating in March after she ended her engagement to Jason Trawick in January.

"I'm in love," she said. "I like the fact that he's very stubborn and he's stuck in his ways. He's just a simple man. I adore him. He's really funny and he's really passionate. I love the fact that anything he's involved in he's passionate about, and it's contagious."

The 31-year-old pop star also revealed that her new beau had to first meet the approval of her father, Jamie Spears. Jamie, who is also the conservator of his daughter, had a background test run on Lucado.

"That is true. My dad's a little crazy like that."

The pop icon also was also happy to talk about her new album, Britney Jean, which will be released Dec. 3. She said the album was very good for her spirits.

"I would say [the album] was kind of like therapy for me," she said. "It just kind of transformed me."
