Lady Gaga has announced that she will not die a premature death like fellow musician, Amy Winehouse, E! News reported Friday.

The Applause singer gave a radio interview to Z100 on Nov. 8. She explained that she would not be joining the infamous "27 club". In pop culture, it is related to famous musical stars who have died at the age of 27. Some of the famous names have included Kurt Cubain, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Winehouse. Many of these deaths were the results of drug use.

The 27-year-old singer has not been shy about her drug use. She admitted to relying on it for inspiration.

"I do put that pressure on myself; I have to be high to be creative. I need that. That's an error in my life that happened for over 10 years," Gaga admitted. "Can I be brilliant without it? I know that I can be and I have to be because I want to live, and I want my fans to want to live. I don't want them to torture themselves in the way I have."

However, she made clear she was not about to die anytime soon.

"I want to show people that I will last past 27 and I will last longer, and so will you," she said.

Gaga also added that she wanted to remove the mystique surrounding popular artists who die young.

"I want to change this code in the atmosphere that in order to be remembered, I must die young. In order to be remembered as a legend, I must be dead first," she said.
