Lauren Conrad Engagement Update: Top 5 Things About Her Fiancé, William Tell

The Hills star Lauren Conrad is engaged to William Tell. Conrad shared a picture of her hand with the circle-cut diamond ring. Some of Conrad's exes have been household names, Tell managed to keep his love life private while he was with Conrad for the last year and a half.

Here are five things to know about William Tell as compiled by E! Online:

1.     He's native to Southern California just like Lauren Conrad.

2.     He's a music man. During his undergrad years, he actually studied music business and is even the singer-songwriter for the song "Just for You", which can be found on the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants soundtrack. His iTunes bio said that it was his father who was a minister that taught him how to play the guitar.

3.     He's smart and funny. He is not an avid Twitter user but he retweeted the tweets of Stephen Colbert, OMG Facts and Steve Case.

4.     He's the One. A source close to Conrad told E! News that they knew Tell was "The One" when they first met him. "Lauren loves that he is a normal nice guy who isn't really in the industry. She has never been this head over heels for someone she has been with."

5.     He has a popular name. You've probably heard of "The William Tell Overture" by Gioachino Rossini, which is the theme from The Lone Ranger.  He also shares his name with Swiss folk hero William Tell, whose legend say that Tell has successfully shot an apple off his son's head with a crossbow.
