Kate Gosselin has spoken out about her ex-husband Jon Gosselin, claiming she has pity for him during an appearance on Bethenny, E! News reported Wednesday.
Kate was a guest on Bethenny Frankel's talk show Wednesday. The mother of eight responded to how she felt about her ex now working as a waiter in Pennsylvania. She expressed feelings of sympathy.
"Somebody once told me that if you feel sadness and empathy and pity for someone the root of that is love," she said.
Jon and Kate used to star on TLC's Kate Plus 8 on TLC until the show was canceled. The duo's divorce was finalized in 2009 and their relationship has been estranged since. However, she said that their children still had a relationship with him.
"They visit him every other weekend. He has a dinner night with them. Without going into to much detail, we are making the best of it," Kate said.
The 38-year-old star that she did not want to hinder the relationship that Jon has with their brood. She insisted on fostering the connection that the kids have with their father.
"The best thing for my kids is that I give them the opportunity and the ability to continue that relationship. When they are older if they don't want to do it anymore or whatever decisions they make, that is their business. For now, my job is to foster that bond," she said.
