Janet Jackson is looking to adopt a child with her husband, Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana, Us Weekly reported Tuesday.

Sources told the publication that the 47-year-old singer and her husband of one year are looking to expand their family. They have been researching into adopting a child from a third world country.

"She now pretty much knows pregnancy is not in the cards, so she's been looking into adopting," the source said. "She's been very moved by the events in Jordan and Syria now that she's been living overseas. Not sure how soon it will happen, but there's been movement on this."

Page Six also elaborated on the intentions of the pop icon. She has reportedly reached out to Queen Rania of Jordan with help with any potential adoption.

"Janet has always been concerned about the welfare of the world's children, and it's important to her that she affords a baby the opportunities that have been afforded her," a source said.

It was emphasized that Jackson has always been concerned about the plight of children overseas. It was one of the motivating factors why she wanted to go outside of the U.S. for a child.
