Gia Allemand was on the phone with her mother when she committed suicide, PEOPLE reported September 8.

Donna Micheletti, Allemand's mother, is set to appear on Tuesday's episode of Dr. Phil. She shared with the talk show host that she was on the phone when her daughter took her life on Aug. 12 by hanging herself. The former Bachelor star was 29.

"I'm the closest person in the world to her and she didn't want to be alone when she left this world. So she wanted Mommy to be there, I guess," Micheletti said.

Micheletti said she was both pained and comforted by Allemand's choice to call her before taking her own life.

"It destroys me but if it made her feel better, then that's fine," she added. "I don't mind dealing with this."

She was ultimately found by her boyfriend, Ryan Anderson. A police report confirmed that Allemand was distraught over the state of her relationship with Anderson. He apparently told his girlfriend that he no longer loved her. She also thought he had been cheating.

Micheletti wished that her daughter would have allowed some time to pass before she made the decision to end her life.  She thought that her daughter would have felt better in a few hours.

"I'm really mad that she did this for no reason," Micheletti said. "In 12 hours it would have been fine. I'm really angry."
