In response, the 27-year-old Grammy singer shared his gratitude at being asked to perform at the event. He will follow in the likes of such superstars as last year’s entertainment, Beyoncé. Madonna, Michael Jackson and Prince have also taken to the stage during halftime. "It's just an honor," Mars said as the news was announced during Fox's live pregame show. "We just got off tour, so being able to come to New York City and announce this is incredible." Mars also took to Twitter to revel in the announcement.
