It seems that Eddie Murphy still has passion not only for acting but also for singing. The Beverly Hills Cop actor's 1985 hit Party All the Time was placed on VH1's list of 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders has recently released a new song, according to Us Weekly.
On Tuesday, the 52-year-old star wrote a single tweet sharing a link to his new song "Red Light" featuring Snoop Lion. The reggae song is more mellow than hit "Party All the Time." There's a slow, drum-infused beat and a slow drawl from Murphy. After three minutes into the song, Snoop Lion sings his trademark vocals onto the track. Then the two singers sing about police profiling.
"Broken economy, the streets are dire/ Even more than before/ I need some betterness to take me higher/ Feels like I'm gonna blow," Murphy sings. On Sept. 9, a music video for the song will be released.
In the 1990s, Murphy also released a second album, Love's Alright. He also appeared in Michael Jackson's music video "Remember the time." Recently, Murphy has been keeping a low profile. His last big movie was Tower Heist in 2011. During the same year, 2011, he was set to host the Oscars but stepped down after his Tower Heist director, Brett Ratner, resigned as producer of the program.
