There have been different reactions to the various performances at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Selena Gomez said that Miley Cyrus's performance was "amazing." But Kelly Clarkson begged to disagree. According to Us Weekly, the singer tweeted a harsh at the same time humorous reaction of the   Sunday, Aug. 25, show. She didn't really name names but her tweet spoke volumes.

"Just saw a couple performances from the VMAs last night," the "Dark Side" singer wrote on Monday, Aug. 26. "2 words...#pitchystrippers."

Cyrus's performance was the talk of the town as she had a raunchy duet with Robin Thicke as they sang "Blurred Lines." Her performance started with her performing "We Can't Stop". Then she stripped her one piece bodysuit and then revealed a nude-colored bra and underwear. The 20-year-old singer then gyrated with Thicke at the same time making obscene gestures with a foam finger.

"Things I learned from watching the #VMAs2013: There's nothing you can do with a foam finger that you can't air on MTV,"  James Van Der Beek of Dawson's Creek tweeted.

Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson also tweeted: "I just watched the #VMAs & I know I'm going to have nightmares about Miley Cyrus playing a tiny harp where her 'red light area' is."

Brooke Shields also had something to say as she appeared on the Today show after Cyrus's performance. She said: "I was Hannah Montana's mother. I do not approve. I just want to know who's advising her, and why it's necessary. I mean, the whole finger thing, and the hand...Robin [Thicke] probably at that point was going, 'I don't think this is a good idea. [Our children] can't watch that. I feel like it's a bit desperate."
