'Young and the Restless' News: Josh Griffith Out As Head Writer?

Josh Griffith is out as Head writer of Young and the Restless and replacements are already being discussed CBS Soaps In Depth reported last week.

There had been rumors that Griffith either quit or was fired from his post at the CBS soap opera. An article on Highlight Hollywood created the speculation that Griffith was leaving because of creative differences. Griffith fueled the gossip with a Facebook post about new adventures that has since been deleted.

Sources told the publication that Shelly Altman was being considered as a replacement for the departing Griffith. Altman is a veteran head writer of many shows such as General Hospital and is currently a member of the Y&R writing staff.

A spokesperson for the daytime serial has yet to comment on Griffith's possible exit, but that has not quelled the rumor mill. Nelson Branco, a journalist, has claimed that Griffith was fired because he clashed with Y&R executive producer Jill Farren Phelps in regards to upcoming storyline for the #1 rated soap.
