Katy Perry and John Mayer have released their duet, Who You Love, for Mayer's new album, Paradise Valley which is due Aug. 20.
The song is a ballad about a couple's attraction to one another despite obstacles in their way. Some of the lyrics include Mayer crooning about his girl is not the one he saw coming and that he initially tried to run but not anymore.
Perry spoke about the spoke on Monday during an interview with SIRIUSXM's Morning Mash Up. She discussed her laugh at the end of the track.
"That's just a love giggle. It's like the ones that Mariah Carey had in 1990," she said. "I was going for that, I think I was just so happy ... You're catching the real moment there."
Who You Love is not the only song of Perry's that is making headlines. She officially released Roar on Monday. It is the lead single from her forthcoming album, Prism, which is due in October. The song has already reached the #1 spot on iTunes in 20 different countries but the 28-year-old pop star has been accused of copying Sara Bareilles Song, Brave. Perry has not yet commented on the comparisons which have spread across social media.
