Julia Roberts News: 'Pretty Woman' Star Bullied Half Sister, Nancy Motes

Julia Roberts was a bully to her half sister, The New York Daily News reported August 10.

Nancy Motes is the half sister of Roberts. The 37-year-old said that the Pretty Woman star would tease her about her weight battle. Motes, the daughter of Roberts' mother Betty Lou and stepfather Michael Motes, said that Roberts would taunt her all throughout high school.

"When I was in high school and she was an adult, she would just let me know that I was definitely overweight," Motes said.

Motes once weighed 300lbs at her heaviest. She said that the comments from Roberts hurt her to the core. The verbal abuse caused Motes to undergo bypass surgery in June 2010. Her current weight is 155lbs. She expressed the desire that her new appearance would lead to better relations between her and the movie star.

"I think we're both trying to change our opinions of each other," Motes said. "It's a work in progress. It's not going to be fixed overnight, nor do I think it's going to be fixed at this point by me just getting skinny."

Motes works as a production assistant on Glee. Roberts has not made any public comments about her half sister's comments.
