Christel Khalil filed a lawsuit against her agents for sending her to audition at the current place of her employment, Young and the Restless, The Wrap reported August 7.
In the lawsuit, Khalil claimed that her agents at Mavrick Artists Agency, have not honored their commitment to represent her. She stated in her complaint that her agents failed to sent her on sparse auditions during pilot season last year. Khalil said that she was embarrassed when the agents sent her to audition at Y&R where she has played Lily Winters Ashby for many years and has been nominated four times for an Emmy. She won the statue for Younger Lead Actress in 2010.
Khalil was described as "collectively embarrassed, if not mortified" by the decision to have her audition at Y&R. The insult, in addition to the alleged negligence, has led Khalil to argue breach of contract.
The 25-year-old actress has not addressed the lawsuit with a statement, but a source told Daytime Confidential on Monday that the legal move has upset some people. Casting director Judy Blye Wilson is rumored to be angry that her name would be implicated in the confusion of Khalil auditioning at the CBS soap opera where she is employed.
"The agency may not know their client is on The Young and the Restless, but do people really think Judy doesn't know who is on her own show?" a source said. "She [Wilson] never took a meeting with them [Mavrick Artists Agency] about Christel."
