Lady Gaga has been criticized as being underhanded for getting court records sealed, RadarOnline reported Thursday.

Gaga has been embroiled in a lawsuit with multiple parties. The 27-year-old hitmaker went  to court to keep court records sealed in a case involving former collaborator and mentor, Rob Fusari. A New Jersey judge agreed last week with the gag, ruling that the information could damage the Judas singer's career. A lawyer representing Rebecca Francescatti, who has claimed that Gaga plagiarized her, is of the belief that gaga is attempting to suppress the facts in Francescatti's case as well.

"For a person who preaches truth and virtue, [Gaga] sure does not want anyone seeing her real persona," Bill Niro said.

Niro added that Gaga has been overzealous in her desire to have documents sealed. Niro believed that it had more to do with Gaga being afraid that she would be exposed as a possible fraud. He was confident that his client's version of events would be seen as the truth.

"It [all] looks to me like a conspiracy of silence. [Gaga] did nothing. No work," Niro said.

A status hearing on Francescatti's case will be held on Aug. 22.
