Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro Reunite For Ann Leary Movie Adaptation, 'The Good House'

Meryl Streep is reunited with Robert De Niro in the Ann Leary movie adaptation, The Good House.

The Good House is a dark comedy. Streep plays the character of Hilde Good, a former alcoholic and real estate agent. Life becomes exciting for Good as she rekindles her friendship with an ex-boyfriend played by De Niro.

Author Michael Cunningham will be the one who adapts the story, reports say marking "The Good House" as the third time the award winning actress will take on a role adapted by Cunningham. The novel is described as "funny, poignant and terrifying that lays bare the secrets of one little town."

Streep and De Niro appeared together 20 years ago in a film, Marvin's Room. The Good House is the fourth film where the two will work together. The actor and actress also teamed up in 1978's war film "The Deer Hunter and "Falling in Love" in the mid-80s.

The 64-year-old actress has won a few Oscars while her 69-year old co-star is also another award-winning actor. Streep rose to fame after her 1978 film with De Niro "The Deer Hunter" followed by "Kramer vs. Kramer" a year later. The actress has been nominated for an Academy Award 17 times and has won three times. She also has been nominated for Golden Glob 27 times and has won eight times. She has also caught the attention of the Emmy' s and Cannes.

Meanwhile, New York-born De Niro has four Golden Globe nominations for best actor.
