Did anyone switch over from Super Bowl XVLII last night to watch the newest episode of "Girls"?
As if the previews weren't intriguing enough to make you tune in, the power at the Super Dome in Louisiana went off right about the time "Just Continue To Have A Ball" was airing! If that wasn't a sign to watch "Girls" then I don't know what would be.
Could this episode top Hannah and Elijah's coke experience? The answer might actually be yes.
After becoming extremely high, Elijah spills his secret of sleeping with Marnie, Hannah's best friend. Well, technically it was only "three pumps" but that didn't make it any easier for Hannah to swallow.
And with so much happening in only 30 minutes we're going to try and explain it all in the most concise manner. Elijah moves out at Hannah's request. She was devastated after hearing about his sexual encounter with Marnie. But all is well when Hannah gets back at Elijah by taking all his possessions.
Hannah makes sure to mark her territory, "You know what? I'm going to sit on this chair as much as I like, all day, vagina back and forth, forever, just my whole crotchal area spreading out over it."
After the two scuffled about burritos and butt plugs, Elijah finally left for good. You probably won't see Andrew Rannells' back for a while because he's focusing on his NBC show "The New Normal". We'll miss you, Elijah!
Hannah then decides to throw an "I-kicked-out-another-roommate-dinner," to which she invites Charlie and Audrey. When Marnie walks in you could cut the tension with a knife - especially after Audrey suggests they leave. Hannah replies that they should stay and Marnie should go. Ugh.
"It's frankly psychotic of her to come," Hannah says quietly enough so Marnie doesn't hear her in the bathroom. Then just as Marnie decides to go Hannah declares that no one is allowed to leave her dinner party.
Oh, Hannah. Is this your try at backstabbing? It's not a great look for you. But we LOVE your apron that reads "This Mama Cooks". Super chic.
After butt plugs find their way into the conversation yet again, the conversation goes south (no pun intended). Audrey eventually calls out Marnie for sleeping at Charlie's apartment and lays out her feelings all over Hannah's dinner table. But looks like Marnie got the last laugh! After she stormed out Charlie followed her up to the roof only to end up in a boob-grabbing make-out session. Definitely was not expecting that!
Marnie pushes him off. Charlie then gets pissed (and, may we say, a little jealous) when Marnie tells him that she is hooking up with the sexually deviant artist, Booth Jonathon.
Then things only get sour as Charlie makes his way back to the dinner party and finds his supposedly sweet girlfriend gone. He blames the misfortune on Marnie. Lo and behold, Hannah then stands up for her best friend.
Jerk move, Charlie. And to think we used to be on your side!
That wasn't the only surprise at the dinner party. Looks like Shosh just found out she has a roommate! He's 31, homeless, and only has one personal possession! Despite Ray being much older than Shosh, their relationship seems to be working. They have random fun sex that makes them late to dinner parties, and they stay in bed all day talking about bathing baby pigs. Come on, what else could you want in a relationship?
Well, if your answer is love then look no further! After Ray reveals to Shosh how much of a "loser" he is she blurts out that she's falling in love with him. It was such a romantic scene. We got a little choked up watching it.
But as one love blossoms another ends! We've missed Jessa's carefree spirit. And luckily for us, when she meets Thomas-John's parents it's back on full display.,
This girl really doesn't know how to make the best first impression - especially when meeting a mother who thinks her son married a golddigger. But Jessa doesn't like being judged and for that she really let's mama Thomas-John have it.
Jessa explains all about her heroin addiction, her atheist ways, and her lust for travel, which leaves no time for a job. Obviously, Thomas-John's father is smitten with Jessa, as is every man who has a glimpse at her gorgeous complexion and listens to her charming words.
Thomas-John soon sides with his mother, though. When the couple gets home a heated quarrel begins. Jessa is too much of a free spirit to be boxed in a home with puppies, expensive rugs, and lavish paintings. So it's no surprise the she called this short chapter in her life quits. But not before Thomas-John hits Jessa with some intense words explaining how her dissatisfaction for life leads her to destroying others.
This episode ends with Jessa completely stripped down, emotionally and physically, in the bathtub with Hannah before snort-rocketing in the water. And to think moments before guys were ooh'ing and aah'ing over Jessa's first boob scene!
This episode really exposed characters for who they are and showed the complex sides of their personalities.
Next episode we'll see Hannah quit her job at "Grumpys" (also where Ray works) where she ends up meeting a rather cute guy. Hannah's getting a lot of play this season! We're keeping track, she will be at guy number three next Sunday.
