Nina Dobrev And Ian Somerhalder Engaged? Rumors Fly Of A Ring For Dobrev’s Birthday!

A "Vampire Diaries" wedding may be happening in the future! Actress Nina Dobrev turned 24-years-old this past Wednesday, and news outlets are reporting that the Bulgarian beauty received a ring from her co-star and on-screen flame, Ian Somerhalder!

On Wednesday Somerhalder tweeted at his girlfriend:

"You Jules are correct! Happy Birthday beautiful @ninadobrev! RT @juliePlec Am I wrong or is it the gorgeous @ninadobrev's birthday?!!!"

While fans loved the sweet message to his beau, many couldn't stop wondering what he had planned for her special day!

It turns out that this year Dobrev's birthday fell on the same night as the People's Choice Awards. Since "The Vampire Diaries" didn't take home any awards, Dobrev did not attend the event...but Somerhalder did! The actor was on hand to present the award for Favorite Comedic Actor with "Happy Endings" actress Casey Wilson, however as soon as his hosting gig was over he flew the coop and headed to see Dobrev...who was at the Dior dinner!

Dobrev definitely didn't spend the evening alone prior to Somerhalder's arrival. The "Vampire Diaries" actress happily snapped photos with "Twilight" stars Anna Kendrick and Nikki Reed. Later on in the evening she and Somerhalder even schmoozed with "Dancing with the Stars" pro Derek Hough...which is what got the engagement rumors swirling. Hough uploaded the photo of him with Dobrev and Somerhalder onto Twitter. In the photo Dobrev has a wide smile across her face as she wraps her arm around Somerhalder in one photo, and holds a glass of champagne in the other. The actress was absolutely glowing, and another photo of her in the car that evening could explain why...she has a sparkly ring on her left hand! Before "Vampire Diaries" fans get themselves in a tizzy, a rep for Nina Dobrev told GossipCop.com that the engagement reports are "totally untrue."
