Octomom On Welfare: Nadya Suleman Will Get $2,000 Per Month In Government Aid

"Octomom" Nadya Suleman has seen better days. The mother of 14 children went on welfare today.

TMZ reports that "Octomom" Suleman is getting $2,000 per month from the State of California. The money is loaded onto a special debit card account. It can only be used to purchase food, and it's closely monitored by the State of California to make sure that the money isn't used to purchase illegal items -- such as toys, diapers or alcohol.

Suleman has been quoted saything that she would never go on welfare because she dind't want to become "self-fulfilling prophecy" by accepting government assistance. Unfortunately for "Octomom," she's become her worst nightmare.

"Octomom" Nadya Suleman is best known for using fertility treatments to become pregnant with octuplets. The bewildering pregnancy was made vevn more XXXX because the unemployed mother already had six children. TMZ reports that "Octomom" qualified for the card because she makes less than $119,000 per year, and any family of 15 that makes less than that amount qualifies for the government program.

"She's not doing well. She's struggling financially and she does whatever she can," Suleman's attorney, Jeff Czech, told The Associated Press.

The "Octomom," despite her troubles, remains optimistic and determined to pull herself up by her bootstraps. The New York Post reports that Suleman turned down a multi-million dollar offer to star in a pornographic video.

Suleman gave birth to octuplets in 2009. The other six children that she'd had prior to the octuplet birth were also the result of an in vitro fertilization treatment. The "Octomom" has been the impetus for debates about whether the government has any right to determine how many babies a mother would like. Celebrities have chimed in on the debate. Chere reportedly said that having so many children with no means of support was the height of irresponsibility.

For now, "Octomom" Nadya Suleman has $2,000 less to worry about.
