That's right Adam Levine (the famous boy band singer who was featured in one episode of "American Horror Story" this season before quickly getting killed off) is hosting SNL, while soon-to-be rap legend Kendrick Lamar will serve as musical guest.
Kendrick Lamar broke the news on his Facebook page, sharing a promotional poster for the January 26 show (pictured above).
"SNL x Jan 26th... ya b*sh," he wrote.
K-Dot has been dominating the rap game for the past few months. Following the release of his second studio album, "Good Kid, m.A.A.d city," Lamar quickly rose to the top of the "best of 2012" lists. Pitchfork labeled his album the best record of 2012, while The Source called the Compton-born rapper their "Rookie of the Year."
Most recently, Lamar released a new music video for his track, "Backseat Freestyle," which featured K-Dot rapping in Compton and in Paris in front of the Eiffel Tower. We also see him posing in front of flashy cars, and watch a shirtless man (portraying his father) order Pizza and sing to himself. The video is also intercut with Japanese anime footage.
Now we take you to Twitter, for our favorite online reactions to the great news that K-Dot will be playing the famous SNL stage.
So the big question is: What songs will Kendrick Lamar perform on SNL?
SNL performers usually play two songs each. We know the fans all want to hear "Money Trees," but considering that the "Backseat Freestyle" music video just dropped we think K-Dot will probably choose that for his faster song. Then again, he did announce the news with a quote from "Money Trees," so...
For a slower track, we'd bet on "B*tch Don't Kill My Vibe," a crowd favorite that made Pitchfork's list of the top 10 songs of 2012.
What songs are you hoping K-Dot performs for SNL? Let us know in the comments.
