Kate Winslet married Ned Rocknroll in a private ceremony earlier this month.
According to US Weekly, the "Titanic" actress married the 34-year-old during a small service in New York. The couple has reportedly been dating since the fall of 2011 and got engaged this past summer.
Reports indicate that Winslet was given away at the ceremony by her "Titanic" co-star, Leonardo DiCaprio. The duo also appeared together on screen in the 2008 film "Revolutionary Road."
The Daily Mail reports that Winslet first met Ned RocknRoll while visiting Richard Branson's Necker Island resort. RocknRoll, who was born Ned Abel Smith, is Branson's nephew. At the time, Winslet was dating model Louis Dowler.
Winslet made headlines around that same time for rescuing Richard Branson's mother during Hurricane Irene. According to ABC News, a lightning storm started a fire in the resort's Great House, and Winslet helped carry Branson's then-90-year-old mother = to safety.
"Talking to her, she said it's like being in a film set where you're waiting for the words 'cut' but they just don't come," Richard Branson said of Kate Winslet at the time. "So it was quite surreal for her to be in a real-life situation."
Thus it appears safe to assume that Kate Winslet's wedding has the blessing of her new father-in-law.
This is the third marriage for Kate Winslet, who was previously wedded to directors Jim Threapleton and Sam Mendes, according to CNN. She has one child with each of her ex-husbands, according to EW.com. Ned RocknRoll, meanwhile, was previously married to Eliza Pearson, the daughter of Viscount Cowdray, before the couple separated in 2010.
