Carmen Electra, Simon Cowell Dating? The Former 'American Idol' Judge Finally Speaks

Simon Cowell, the sharp-tongued creator and former judge of "American Idol," is known for not being impressed by much. That's why many were surprised when Cowell admitted that he'd been dating Carmen Electra during a recent interview.

Simon Cowell admitted that he and Carmen Electra are dating during an interview with Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday. Cowell was unwilling to say much more than that, though. Even though the two have been seen together repeatedly, Cowell isn't ready to call her a girlfriend just yet.

"Girlfriend?" said Cowell in response to Seacrest's question about the status of their relationship. "We're people who date. She's adorable, isn't she?"

Simon Cowell and Carment Electra were first rumored to be dating after Electra appeared on "Britain's Got Talent" as a guest judge. During one of the auditions, Electra was fixated on Simon Cowell's shirt and was even told to stop looking at him. Later, she tweeted, "Eyes up here @simoncowell ;)." The tweet was clearly an attempt to poke fun at her tendency to eye Cowell during the recording.

Several weeks later, Cowell and Electra were photographed together after finishing a dinner a the lavish restaurant in West Hollywood called Cecconi's. The photograph shows obvious chemistry between the two. As Carmen Electra looks directly at the photographer and smiles, Cowell is entirely focused on her. His arm is position around her waist in a very protective fashion.

Carmen Electra is known as somewhat of a "maneater." She formerly starred alongside Pamela Anderson in "Baywatch" and also performed in several photoshoots with Playboy. Carmen Electra is now 40-years-old and most recently dated the guitar player of Jane's Addiction, Dave Navarro. She also dated Dennis Rodman, the polarizing basketball player formerly known as "The Worm."
