Silicon Valley, the iconic technology hub of California, has inspired a variety of terrible shows on television including Bravo's Start Ups: Silicon Valley. Although the shows about Silicon Valley that have been released in the last year have been god-awful, there's still hope. Mike Judge, the genius creator of "Beavis & Butthead," "Office Space," "King of the Hill" and more will be penning a new show for HBO about technology startups dubbed "Silicon Valley."
HBO has reportedly picked up the pilot for "Silicon Valley." Fellow King Of The Hill executive producers John Altshuler and Dave Krinsky will join Mike Judge in the creation of the new show. The show is reportedly being filmed as a single-camera dark comedy. If it's anything like Judge's office masterpiece, "Office Space," we're probably in for lots of laughs.
The live-action project will be written by Judge, Altshuler and Krinsky according toa Deadline report. "Silicon Valley" will be executive produced by Scott Rudin. The pilot is "is set in the high tech gold rush of modern Silicon Valley, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success," according to Deadline.
Mike Judge and friends will begin shooting the pilot for "Silicon Valley" in 2013. This is not the first time that Judge has been responsible for writing a live-action television show. The prolific writer has penned episodes for several famous shows that even include a copule of skits on "SNL." For more information about Mike Judge's previous work, check out his IMDB profile.
