A Twitter post from screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis earlier today read, "Kathryn Bigelow would be considered a mildly interesting filmmaker if she was a man but since she's a very hot woman she's really overrated."
Attracting heated reactions, Ellis was criticized for the sexist remark by both fans and entertainment reporters.
Rather than own up to the inappropriate tweet, Ellis double downed with another post that challenged Bigelow's credibility as a director: "Strange Days, K-19 The Widowmaker, Blue Steel, The Hurt Locker. Are we talking about visionary filmmaking or just OK junk?"
Causing a stir, many fans quickly reacted to Ellis' provocation.
Unfazed by the new found attention today, Ellis ends the series of topics with this. So why the beef?! is this just a drunk and envious Ellis talking because of his bitterness to Bigelow's rising fame? let us know what you think in the comment section below:
